Saint Anthony

As many of you know, Saint Anthony of Padua is the saint we pray to when we have lost something and I was going to mention the hundreds of times he has helped me to fine keys, rings, money, etc., over the years, but the times are serious now and I think we have lost our sanity in our world.    We need miraculous help and he is known as the miracle worker.    St. Anthony, please help us to find our sanity.    Please.

This is the Madonna & Child I painted for 2015

I painted this in the style of Vincent Van Gogh, one of my favorite artists.

Our Suffering Savior

During Holy Week I generally do a painting of the Crucifixion, or the face of Jesus, and this year I decided to do an abstract, inspired by the Shroud of Turin.    I just completed this and I hope you like it.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus

I feel very honored to tell you that this painting of the Sacred Heart is now on the cover of a book by Carol Eubank entitled A glimpse into my Heart, Letters to My Daughter.    It is a beautiful, deeply spiritual book of letters written about the faith and the love of The Lord.   We didn't know each other prior to this project, but we both had devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and I know that He brought us together.

I painted this Crucifixion during Holy Week but was concerned that it might be too modern for my sacred art blog and was unsure about posting it.   I emailed a copy out to family and friends, some of whom are artists to get their opinion and the response was overwhelmingly positive.   My friend and fellow artist, Awilda Harrington, who just this past week had one of her paintings accepted by the Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, FL, had this to say.   "Wow . . . the reason I like it is because it is disturbing to me.   His face demonstrates sadness as well as a pensive thoughtfulness as if in a prayer mode.   This painting has affected me more than any of your others."   After reading this and other comments, I decided to post it because I wanted to share this with you, my internet friends.
